Sedimental | Edition 01

Sedimental | Edition 01 is the inaugural open archives project for Lost in Fiber Library in NYC. This first edition is on view from 11.20.24 – 01.30.25, open by appointment.

As an exploration of archiving as an art practice and expression of the wonder of object collecting, this open viewing explores how we are drawn to highlighting and recombining forms and select materials as they settle into our environs and overlay with our living space.

Set within the studio gallery and library of artist Abigail Doan, being and feeling ‘sedimental’ also plays on sentimental responses to art and object arrangement via the inclusion of select book passages, photographs, and texts as historic, poetic references. Photographic prints for this edition will also be available as a record of Doan’s own sedimental experiences and encounters with the sifted remains of environmental events.
